Poverty And Artificial Intelligence
AI is getting more powerful, and we are getting better at using it.
It has been almost 10 years since its rise, couple of weeks ago it got cheap enough to code big.
My week begun by speaking to AI more precisely, instead of directly asking, I send my request to another AI to make it better.
And then by giving AI a blurry image I liked, and asked it to discover and build new user interfaces from it.
I have several mood boards with UI ideas I generated, with an image generator.
How can it not be a success, it it good at inventing shapes, and interpreting them in styles.
I then embraced the idea of PROCEDURES and keep a tiny library, of reliable steps AI must follow to achieve complex goals.
I in a few days I will experiment with a low-powered AI, those are great at following well established steps.
And instead of making something that merely works, I created a coherent symphony orchestra of sub systems.
It is just like I always say, in the age of AI, you must think big, and ask big.
To get all the system components to play together, I needed a little bit more programming than usual.
I put my AI in goal mode, which asks for a clear goal, and a good test to check when it it reached.
My AI ran for 10 hours, and to monitor it’s progress, I invented the idea of a BLOG it posts to.
And it contributed the idea of having me fill out a survey about the post it produced.
Nothing was lost in translation, it was visually showing me, what it was working on and asking for confirmation.
Half way through I imagined it posting a much smaller text, and maybe with images, and excited language.
This more detailed variant creates a story of where AI is going, what it is hoping to achieve, and what it is trying t fix, and what’s next.
Finally, what is next, is the end of poor people getting stuck in poverty, school taught you not to think, not to do, just to follow what you are told or fail.
AI asks you to think, think thoughts so long, that you need vacations, pretty much without a return date, it is there that you discover what to work on.
Poverty has held your mind back, and school taught you you don’t need to learn for real, just memorize.
And now you will have to undo that damage, like Newton, you need a tree.
And you need to throw your apple so hard, that as it finally falls t the ground, earth curvature dips down, and the apple remains in orbit.
The end of poverty is not something that will be proclaimed by politicians, in the age of AI, it is something that you have to discover your way through.
